OHOOPEE RIVERS HORSE ASSOCIATION AUGUST NEWSLETTER ________________________________________ Our monthly meeting was held Saturday, August 22nd. If you did not make this meeting you missed a wonderful meal~ Ken cooked Jambalaya~ was GREAT! We had around 48 members present at this meeting~~Hope you can make our next meeting!! The meeting was called to order by Ken. The treasurer’s report were given and approved. ________________________________________ OLD BUSINESS ________________________________________ Announced the SOBRA banquet was Sunday, August 23rd in Macon at the Porter Ellis Building. ________________________________________ NEW BUSINESS ________________________________________ SOBRA has proposed and passes beginning this year to bring all Pleasure Classes to ORHA. You will pay the $10.00 SOBRA point fee at the ORHA show if you want points for state show. The awards will only be giving thru ORHA for these pleasure classes beginning in 2010. This will be great for SOBRA and ORHA. The only concession that had to be made was our last and only show this year will be dropped. We will start 2010 year to include the SOBRA change with our FIRST show Saturday, August 29th. If dues were paid for 2009 with ORHA they will carry over to 2010. The only fee to be paid will be your SOBRA yearly point fees should you want them counted for state. We also added 5 new classes to coincide with SOBRA pleasure classes ~ a new show sheet was handed out to all in attendance at this meeting. Our shows may now run a little longer BUT at least pleasure classes won’t be starting at 10 – 11 – or 12 in the morning any more~ Our show dates will change also ~ The only 2 set for sure are the August 29th show and the November 7th. Then 3 next year maybe in March – April and May. Those will be set at a later date.
